Ghafix Currency Converter · Last updated July 29, 2026
This policy explains how Ghafix Currency Converter (the “App”) collects, uses, shares, and retains information when a Shopify merchant installs or uses the App and when shoppers interact with App features on a merchant's storefront.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the App:
- Merchant and Shopify account information: shop domain, Shopify identifiers, granted access scopes, installation status, and—when Shopify provides them—merchant name, email address, locale, and session information.
- App configuration: enabled currencies, formatting preferences, selector and popup settings, geolocation mappings, Shopify Markets data, theme configuration, billing-plan status, and related operational settings.
- Optional storefront analytics: event type, page path, country and currency codes, pseudonymous visitor or session identifiers, timestamps, and limited interaction metadata. The App does not use these analytics to collect order contents, payment-card information, or customer profiles.
- Technical and support information: diagnostic events, error details, webhook records, and information a merchant chooses to provide when requesting support.
2. Geolocation
The App can use country information supplied by Shopify, the hosting network, or similar request headers to suggest a currency. The App's geolocation endpoint does not store raw IP addresses.
3. How we use information
- Provide currency conversion, localization, configuration, and Shopify Markets compatibility features.
- Authenticate merchants, maintain App sessions, and verify plan access.
- Operate optional analytics selected by the merchant and display aggregated App-performance information.
- Prevent abuse, diagnose errors, secure the service, and provide support.
- Comply with applicable law and Shopify platform requirements.
4. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our agreement with the merchant, pursue legitimate interests such as securing and improving the App, comply with legal obligations, and obtain consent where required. Merchants are responsible for configuring the App and providing any shopper notices or choices required for their storefront.
5. Sharing and service providers
We may share information with Shopify and vendors that help us host, secure, monitor, support, and operate the App or provide exchange-rate and infrastructure services. These providers may process information only to perform services for us, subject to their agreements and applicable law. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction with appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
Merchant configuration and operational information is generally retained while the App is installed and as needed to provide the service. Optional storefront analytics is retained for the period selected by the merchant; the default is 180 days and the supported range is 1 to 730 days. We delete shop-linked data when Shopify sends the applicable mandatory redaction request, except where limited information must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes.
7. Security and international transfers
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Information may be processed in countries other than the country where it was collected; where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
8. Your choices and rights
Merchants can disable optional analytics in the App's privacy settings and can uninstall the App. Depending on location, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information. Shoppers should first contact the merchant whose storefront they visited because that merchant controls the storefront relationship. Merchants and other individuals may contact us using the details below.
9. Children's privacy
The App is a business service for Shopify merchants and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the App, our practices, or legal requirements. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we make changes.
